Elite Residential Academy

Dates: July 24th-27th, 2013

Ages: Boys 12-18

Price: $465

The ETSU Soccer Academy will work with GK1 during the Residential Elite Academy. Head Coach, Scott Calabrese, has constructed a curriculum that is designed for the serious goalkeeper. This camp challenges goalkeepers both physically and the mentally. Its goal is to enhance each player’s technical, tactical, physical and psychological ability to become a successful goalkeeper. The camp’s experienced and professional staff will train and mentor the goalkeepers to ensure that they maximize their potential and improve their skills. In addition to teaching the technical and tactical skills required by goalkeepers, coaches will also focus on teaching the goalkeepers to establish a presence and to be leaders on the field.

GK1 founder, Phil Wheddon, is a two-time Olympic gold medal winner with the US Women’s National Team and has attended the World Cup with the US Men’s National Team. Our goalkeeper coaches have coached along-side both Wheddon and Calabrese to ensure that campers receive the most comprehensive training a camp environment can provide.

The Half Day Camp will be filled with games and drills that are fun and exciting. The focus will be on developing good technique as the foundation to become a better soccer player. Commuting Campers for Elite Residential:

Those campers not staying overnight should arrive at camp on the first day for the first field session and at 8:30 each day after that. Each evening, commuters should be picked up after the last field session of the day. If for some reason a commuter is not able to attend a session or will be late for the morning drop off please notify the Camp Director if possible. We take role before each session so it is imperative we know if someone will not be there. The ETSU Soccer Academy will make every effort possible to arrange a room or area for the commuters between sessions. Commuters can become residential campers at any time if housing space allows it.
